The SCOUTING REPORT
The "Scouting Report allows manufacturers, distributors, vendors and
media to search our member base for Diesel Competitors by type, locale,
competitor level, and more. The may be searching for racers to sponsor or
to feature in media for using their products or services, or for news or
magazine articles.
Regardless of the purpose, it allows them to list a ranked list of
possible racers or teams. Their interest is generally on those who are
dedicated to the sport, participate regularly, and win (at least some of the
time). Our way of measuring this dedication to the sport and creating an
order to present the listing uses a formula comprised of weighted factors
relating to your own MyNADM website.
These factors include:
- Whether you are a Competitor - from your account settings as either a racer or a race team... obviously the Scouting Report is only for competitors.
- The type of competition - from your account settings as either or both a
drag race or sled pull competitor... this lets manufacturers/media target the type of competition... but if you don't have this set correctly you won't appear
- Whether you have competed before, and how many times in the past 2 years - We gather this from your "Competition Record" as posted from your Control Panel on your MyNADM website... If your competition record appears somewhere else on your web page, it will NOT appear in the report. Since to appear on the report
you must have competed at least once, you will not appear without this.
- Your Competition Schedule - This comes from the "Calendar" section of your website, accessed from your Control Panel, and can be viewed by clicking on the
Event Calendar at the top of the page from your web site. NOTE: If you haven't
put your own calendar into the system, the "default" MyNADM calendar appears,
but is NOT used for the Scouting Report. It must be the calendar of events in which you plan on competing. (In case manufacturers/media want to meet you there)
- Your Location (City)- From your accounts settings...
- The Performance products/services you use - From the "Performance Products/Services" item in your Control Panel on your MyNADM website... this is how
manufacturers etc. find out that you use their products...
- Your Interest Level - This is very subjective, but includes how well you
sell yourself on your website based on the following factors...
- Whether you post blogs about your Diesel Competition experience on your
MyNADM website, how many you've posted and how recently...
- Whether you display photos on your MyNADM website slide viewer, how many and how recently they were updated...
- Whether you display videos of your Diesel Competitions on your MyNADM website, how many are shown and how recently they have been updated...
Obviously it's the "luck of the draw" when it comes to the specific manufacturer or product that is being searched for, and your own experience in the type
of Diesel Competition they seek, and your experience therein.
BUT, if you come up on the list, the decision may well rest on how well and
how fully you
present yourself on your MyNADM.com website. The best advice is to keep it
up to date and chock full of your accomplishments, and your "adventures"
along the way... a little chuckle doesn't hurt either.
Competitors can view what their own Scouting Report looks like from
the Content update portion of their Control Panel when logged into their
own web site.
A quick example of what the Scouting Report looks like to Manufacturers/Distributors/Vendors/Media can be seen by clicking HERE. (Just like those using the search, you'll be able to pick a 'feature' photo for the report if the user has any...)
