Reconnecting Instagram & fixing common issues

The reconnect banner

Instagram access expires sometimes — after a password change, a security checkup, or simply with time. When that happens you'll see an amber banner (and a push notification if enabled): "Instagram needs a quick reconnect." Automations pause until you tap Reconnect and log in on Instagram's page again. Ten seconds, and everything resumes — nothing is lost while paused; recent comments can be rescued with Replay.

"Someone commented but got no DM"

Check the delivery log (Automations → your automation → activity). Every comment shows its outcome:

  • Sent — delivered; if they say otherwise, ask them to check message requests.
  • Skipped: window — the comment was older than Instagram's 7-day reply limit, or a follow-up fell outside the 24-hour window. Platform rule, not a fault.
  • Skipped: quota — you're past your monthly DMs; it's queued and will send on upgrade or reset. See the billing help page.
  • Queued — a spike is draining at Instagram's allowed pace; the dashboard shows the ETA.
  • Failed — Instagram refused the send (blocked you, restricted DMs, comment deleted). Rare and per-person; nothing to fix on your side.

"The keyword didn't trigger"

Matching is case-insensitive and works inside sentences. If a comment truly didn't match: check for typos in the comment, confirm the automation is on the right post, and confirm it's Active (not paused). Still stuck? Comment the keyword yourself from another account and watch the log live.
